Today is Queensland Day! To celebrate the day that we became a state, we made our very own Queensland Day Sunglasses. We think everyone in Queensland should have a pair of these!

EVERYDAY POEMS

In class we have been writing Everyday Poems. Everyday poems are about everyday events. They contain a line that is something SOMEONE would SAY, something SOMEONE would THINK, something YOU would SAY and a NOISE you might HEAR. You also have to REPEAT one of these lines in your poem. Here is the poem we made up in class:

The Beach

Can I go for a swim?

Swoosh, Swoosh

Mum I don't want suncream on!

Last week we celebrated aborginal week lots of people come to celebrated.A lot of aborginals came.We sore alot of them they were realy nice that day we prayed for them that but sadly it did'nt last very long but it was nice when it was. by Hamish

We are having a colouring in compition. We got a picture of Ima each. Everyone is going to try and win a prize. You also have to write what you think is all about safety. Next week they are going to anounce the winners of each class from 4 to 7. By Charlotte and Miguel

Every day we do word wall words.We don`t just do word wall words we also do word chants.Some of the word wall chants are scream it whisper it, Mexican hat dance / robot/Ride and cowboy and a lot more our best one is Ketchup.We like the word wall words. B

Last term we learnt about the famous Pop Artist Andy Warhol. We had to do a piece of work similar to his Campbell Soup Can pictures. We could choose an item of food or something from everyday life. We really enjoyed trying to copy his style of art.

Science

NATIONAL TESTING

This week the Year 3's, 5's and 7's in our school are taking part in the national testing for Literacy and Numeracy. The tests are over 3 days - Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. On Tuesday there are 2 tests. On is on spelling and grammar and the other is a writing test. We had to write a narrative. Wednesday's test is a reading and comprehension test and Friday will be Numeracy. Our teachers have helped us to get ready for the test by giving us some practice questions so we are familiar with the type of questions that will be on the tests. Most of the questions are multiple choice and we are not used to answering these kind of questions. It is important with multiple choice questions that you read through all the choices they give you and choose the one that BEST answers the question!!!

After our test yesterday we were all given a lolly snake and a freddo frog to say "WELL DONE"!!
