WALK SAFELY TO SCHOOL DAY

Last Friday our school participated in "Walk Safely To School Day". Children met at different places near our school and with a teacher and our parents, we all walked to school instead of being driven in the car. Lots of children took part in the activity. Each group met at a different place. Some met at the War Memorial, The Local Pool, the local High School, the train station, a local Nursing Home and at a park near our school.

Our adopt-a-cop walked with one group to make sure they crossed the roads safely! The first person to arrive at each meeting point to start the walk got a T-shirt or a drink bottle. Miyoko got a T-shirt.

When we got to school we were all given something to eat. We had bread rolls, cheese sticks, fruit and a chocolate milk.

It was a great way to start the day. We should do it more often!
